The Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation wanted to generate some public and media interested in the issue of honour based violence, to compliment the brilliant lobbying work they had been doing behind closed doors.

They also wanted to get a spotlight on their True Honour Awards – a national ceremony established in memory of all victims of honour killing

Champollion worked with IKWRO to come up with a media story and then managed the media sell in. The coverage on the day was the lead item on the BBC and the biggest story in the country. This helped to position IKWRO as one of the leading authorities on honour based violence and drew attention to the True Honour Awards.

IKWRO were still getting national and international media requests months after the Awards as a result of this story. They also received an invitation from David Cameron’s office to advise on the issue of honour based violence, which they continue to do.
